Kia’s New Seltos Looks More Like a Baby Sportage Now
by AutoExpert | 26 March, 2026
Kia has previewed the new Seltos ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show on April 1, and the direction is easy to spot.
It now moves closer to a smaller Sportage. Length increases to 4,430 mm, up 45 mm, while the wheelbase grows by 60 mm to 2,690 mm. That extra space should improve cabin room and rear seat comfort.

Up front, the lighting takes cues from the Telluride, but with a split LED setup. The main beam sits inside the grille, which gives the front a wider and more planted look. The profile moves toward a more squared design, with sculpted fenders, flush door handles, and strong cladding. At the rear, the influence shifts to the EV5, with slimmer LED elements laid out vertically and horizontally.

The lineup will include three versions. A standard model, a GT Line with a sportier look, and an X Line with a more rugged finish. Changes focus on bumpers and trim details. In the US, the Seltos will use amber daytime running lights, while other markets get white units.

Inside, the layout centers around a curved panoramic display with two 12.3-inch screens for the cluster and infotainment. Kia adds an AI voice assistant, over-the-air updates, premium audio from Harman Kardon or Bose, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

The larger size also improves practicality. Cargo space increases to 536 liters, and a dual-level boot floor adds more flexibility.

For global markets, Kia lines up a 2.0-liter engine with 147 hp and a 1.6-liter turbo with either 178 hp or 190 hp. A self-charging hybrid is also on the way.
Kia has not confirmed which versions will reach North America yet, but the hybrid looks like a strong candidate. Full details arrive on April 1 in New York.
