Chery Just Brought Back The Arrizo 7, And It Looks A Lot Like An Audi

Chery has brought back a name that disappeared from China almost a decade ago, and it returns with a very familiar-looking face. The new Arrizo 7 is a sleek fastback sedan with strong Audi-inspired details, from the grille to the headlights.
Chery will show the car publicly at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21.
The front end gets a softer version of Audi’s Singleframe grille, large bumper intakes, and sharp LED headlights. The lights take cues from the latest Audi A6, while their internal design has a hint of the VW T-Roc.
From the side, the Chery Arrizo 7 uses front-wheel-drive proportions, five-spoke wheels, clean bodywork, and regular door handles. The fastback roof flows into a rear end with slim horizontal LEDs.
The Arrizo 7 name originally appeared in China between 2013 and 2018. Now, eight years after the first generation left the market, Chery brings it back as a second-generation model. The company says the new sedan combines “Eastern wisdom and global aesthetics.”
Technical details remain under wraps, but local reports point to conventional gasoline engines without hybrid assistance.
The Arrizo 7 joins the Arrizo 8 and Arrizo 8 Pro in Chery’s gasoline sedan range. The Arrizo 8 Pro uses 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines and costs between ¥113,900 and ¥145,900 in China, or around $16,900 to $21,600.
Chery also has the Arrizo S concept waiting in the wings, with an Audi-inspired mix of RS6, A5, and A7 design cues. The Arrizo 7 may have its own identity on paper, but Chery clearly knows what kind of design gets attention right now.
